EP.02 I came to walk around Wat Maha That.
I met a Thai girl with a Thai period dress. She dressed for the photo shoot.
And traveled to see the main Pagoda (main prang).
Not many tourists

Ayutthaya Historical Park
There are many tourist attractions in Ayutthay Historical Park . Each place has its own outstanding spot. Most of them are in the state of ruins due to the war ,time and being dismantled to reuse. To clarify , we should acknowledge that the information that is available in textbooks tends to accuse of only the Burmese to have destroyed it. Really,there are many reasons such as 1.being burnt in the war. 2.being destroyed because of the nature such as storm ,rain and flood 3.being encroached by the locals before the government entered to maintain. 4.being dismantled because the government in the old days wished to take the materials to construct the new capital, Bangkok.

Wat Mahathat
This temple is named Wat Mahathat. It was built in 1374 in Ayutthaya early period. The name of the temple means the temple of the great relics because it enshrined the relics of the Buddha. Nowadays, the relics are already moved to Chaosam Phraya national museum. The main prang used to be about 50 meters high. It used to keep the Buddha relics and a lot of valuables ,including the Buddha images. The prang collapsed when there was a heavy storm about 114 years ago. According to an evidence , the prang collapsed at 11 am. on 25th May 1904. The remaining height of the prang is about 20 meters high.
