While a few popular radio stations are making substantial profits most, however, are running at a loss. This is mostly due to poor audience figures limiting the amount that can be charged for advertising space. Recent research undertaken under the auspices of the Psychology Department at Lansdowne College has examined how effective different assessment procedures are in predicting performance at work. In their study psychologists administered various selection techniques to a sample of 65 managers whose performance had been assessed previously using a validated performance appraisal.
