1. Please introduce yourself and tell us why you would like to work for Deloitte Consulting South East Asia?

Situation : I recently graduated with a background in business and technology, and during my academic projects and internship, I was exposed to business process improvement and ERP-related systems.

Task : I wanted to build a career where I could combine analytical thinking, technology, and real business impact across industries.

Action : Throughout university, I actively worked on projects that required data analysis, stakeholder coordination, and structured problem-solving. I became particularly interested in how systems like SAP sit at the core of enterprise transformation. Situation : During university, I was assigned as the project lead for a case competition, even though I was more comfortable working behind the scenes in analysis.

Task : I had to present our solution to a panel of judges and coordinate a diverse team under tight deadlines.

Action : To overcome my discomfort, I practiced public speaking daily, rehearsed presentations multiple times, and asked for peer feedback. I also structured our workflow clearly so each team member knew their responsibilities.

Result : We successfully delivered a confident presentation and won second place in the competition. More importantly, I developed confidence in client-facing communication, which is crucial for consulting.

Situation : In a group project, two members disagreed on the direction of our solution—one preferred a cost-focused approach, while another wanted innovation-focused ideas.

Task : As the coordinator, I needed to resolve the disagreement without affecting team morale.

Action : I facilitated a discussion session where each person explained their reasoning supported by data. I then proposed combining both ideas: presenting an innovative solution supported by cost-benefit analysis.

Result : The team aligned on the integrated approach, and our final presentation received high marks for both creativity and feasibility. The experience strengthened my conflict resolution skills.

 

4. Tell us about a time you had to fix a problem, but did not have all the tools or information you felt were necessary to solve the problem. Please describe the situation, your actions, and the outcome of your actions.

Situation : During an internship, I was asked to analyze sales performance, but some historical data was missing and documentation was incomplete.

Task :  I needed to provide management with actionable insights despite limited information.

Action : I gathered available data, cross-checked with different departments, and created assumptions based on trends. I clearly stated limitations in my analysis and proposed recommendations with risk considerations.

Result : Management appreciated the structured approach and transparency. My analysis was used as a reference for planning the next quarter. I learned that structured thinking can compensate for incomplete information.

 

5. Tell us about a time when you experienced a major change at work or university. Please describe the situation, how you adjusted to the change, and the outcome.

Situation : When classes shifted from onsite to fully online learning, team collaboration became challenging.

Task : I had to maintain productivity and ensure our project deadlines were met.

Action : I introduced structured weekly check-ins, shared online dashboards, and divided tasks clearly. I also encouraged open communication to reduce misunderstandings.

Result : Our team completed the project on time and received strong feedback for organization. I developed adaptability and digital collaboration skills—important in consulting environments.

 

6. Describe a time when you had to work extremely hard on a project or task until you achieved it. What was the situation?  What was the end result ?

Situation : In my final-year project, we had only three weeks to complete a complex business analysis and system improvement proposal.

Task : I was responsible for data analysis and building the financial impact model.

Action : I worked extended hours, reviewed multiple data sources, and refined the model repeatedly to ensure accuracy. I also proactively consulted professors for feedback.

Result : Our project received one of the highest grades in the class. More importantly, I proved to myself that persistence and structured effort lead to high-quality outcomes.
